The importance of music in our church cannot be overemphasized. It is to the praise, honour and glory of God. (Psalm 150).
Music can move the soul, impart courage, strength, and confidence, as well as comfort in times of distress. Not least of all, music fosters a sense of fellowship among listeners and musicians alike.
From 2nd through 30th of August 2021, 58 participants aged Seven to 20 years from all the Apostle Areas in Nigeria were camped in Lagos Central Church for the annual music camp sponsored by the JW Foundation in Germany.
They were taught how to sight read in tonic sol-fa and staff music, play different types of instruments, vocal singing, composition and recording.
During their practical, the children visited a nearby Music Studio to record few songs and have experience on its operations and programming.
The music camp coincided with the visit of Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu in Lagos.
The host, Apostle Oscar Nwanza used the opportunity to award and honour old students of the music camp who have excelled and are now qualified to teach in their various Districts.
The program was very exciting as the Patron, District Elder Oehler could join the program via zoom from Germany, he also makes his contributions to all the trainees.
He advised them to be focus and proactive in their congregations and Districts.
Apostle Volker Kuhnle, Sisters Rose Oehler and Ursula Kuhnle also had a glimpse of the program online.
