After the divine service in Ibeshe and the visit to the retired Apostle Hagher and District Elder Adeyemi, the Lead Apostle Nwogu concluded his missionary journey in the West, with a divine service in Papa Ashafa congregation in Lagos East district on Sunday 14th of August 2021.
In this divine service, the lead apostle read a Bible text from: Matthew 11: 28 “Come to Me, all you who labour* and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
In his message, the Lead Apostle said:
Jesus strengthens those who come to Him
HE said: Jesus presents Himself here as having received from God all authority to save mankind. He invites the poor and despised, the oppressed and afflicted to come to Him to be delivered from the yoke of the law.
Today too, Jesus speaks to all the unfortunate:
• to the victims of natural disasters, serious illnesses or tragic accidents, who are helpless, powerless in the face of a misfortune that is beyond them;
• to those who feel despised or rejected because they are “different” in one way or another;
• to the unhappy, those who are weary of being the eternal “little ones”—they feel that others are always deciding for them, that their wishes and needs are never considered, that they are always discriminated against.
The Lead Apostle told all present that, the call to come to Christ also applies to us, those baptized with water and the Spirit, especially when we are weary and heavy-laden. Sometimes we can become weary of serving Christ. We can no longer rejoice, we are less motivated, we get irritated more easily.
Jesus sees our weariness and wants to help us. He invites us to come to Him. Let us take the time for a personal encounter with Jesus. After opening our hearts to Him, let us focus on our salvation. Let us strengthen our relationship with Jesus Christ. Let us apply His teachings to our situation. Let us seek fellowship with Him in Holy Communion. Each of us needs such encounters to continue serving Christ!...
Apostle Nwanza and Bishop Adelabu were called to assist during the service and seven souls were sealed.
