18 August 2021

From 12th to 15th of August 2021, Lead Apostle Nwogu paid a missionary visit to the West of Nigeria.  Together with the responsible Apostle and Bishop, Nwanza Oscar Kabanga and Adelabu Isaac, the Lead Apostle started his missionary journey on Friday afternoon with a visit to the retired District elder Samson Adeyemi, one of the pioneers of the work of God in the West area of Nigeria.

On Saturday by 10 am, the Lead Apostle conducted a divine service at Ibeshe congregation in Island district.  After the divine service, he and the Apostle together with the Bishop and District Ministers visited the retired Apostle Emmanuel Hagher at his home.

For the divine service at Ibeshe, the Lead Apostle read a text word from 1 Corinthians 1:6-7 “ Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

In his elaboration the Lead Apostle said:
The epistle of the Apostles was to confirm the gifts that were already found in Corinth. The Apostle was pleased with those gifts in them.

We receive earthly gift but they cannot be compared to Spiritual gifts

Spiritual gifts

Patience -  Some are more patient than others, as children of God we should be patient for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Love - Christ loved us first. The testimony is that God loved the world and he gave his only begotten son to die for sinner. John 3: 16. We should show love to our neighbours. Through His love, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit by which we are called Children of God. He cited example of the prodigal son whom the father embraced for coming back home even when the brother didn't show love and was probably not willing to celebrate the feast with his brother.

Faith and trust in God - Faith during trials and misfortunes. Citing the demolition of houses in Kobina that affected members. We should continue to trust God even when our desires have not been met. He knows us and all we need is to get to our goal.

The Lead Apostle admonished all present to replace sorrow with joy, disappointment with hope, hatred and envy with love and embrace. He concluded by saying:  The testimony of the Lord has been confirmed on us, we have our various gifts but one spirit.

The Lead Apostle was assisted by the Apostle and Bishop during the divine service. 12 souls received the gift of the Holy Spirit.
