It was not only a refreshing and reviving moment but very glorious on Wednesday, 17th February 2021 as Apostle Chima Ibekwe of Mid-East Area, Nigeria visited our brethren in Okohia congregation in Okohia District.
This congregation for quite some time had not experienced Apostle's service occasioned by the ravaging global pandemic.
Apostle Ibekwe who arrived to a joyful reception expressed deep thankfulness to God for his love, sustenance and saving grace towards all and appreciated the ministers and members for their steadfastness, sacrifices and labour of love.
He served them with a text word from Luke 18: 41 "What do you want me to do for you?"
In his homily, the Apostle went on memory lane on Jesus' encounter near Jericho with the blind man.
He reminded them that the blind man only perceived movement of people and enquired what was going on and the answer he got was very touching - Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
Hearing this, he cried for help and despite warnings for him to keep quite he cried louder and his cry and faith caught the attention of Jesus.
Having been brought before Jesus, though He knew his problem, Jesus still asked him, ‘What do you want?
What a great lesson? the Apostle queried.
To this, Apostle Ibekwe urged all to allow God through His son, Jesus to open our eyes, so that we can:
* behold wondrous things out of His love.
* grace out of the merits of Jesus.
* see the Apostle's ministry as the ministry of grace and reconciliation.
* see God in our neighbours.
He further said we should always take our cares and worries to the Lord in prayers and supplications.
Concluding, Apostle Ibekwe called upon all to use the lent period to reflect on the nature and mission of Jesus and its significance for our faith.
Priest Bright Samuel assisted at the altar and 72 members and guests attended the divine service.
