Apostle Odili at the Altar during the divine service
23 February 2021

It was not only a blessed and blissful moment but very exciting and inspiring as Apostle Godday Odili of South Area, Nigeria served our brethren in G.R.A congregation in Benin on Sunday 7th February, 2021.

Accompanied by some district ministers of Benin South, Benin North and Warri North Districts, the Apostle exhorted them with a word from Matthew 5: 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven"

Among the highpoints of the festive divine service was the birthday celebration of the Rector of the congregation, Shepherd David Ugolor who was celebrating his 51st birthday.

Apostle Odili who expressed deep thankfulness to God for his love, grace and benevolence reminded the brethren that only those who are poor in spirit are truly rich in God.

He reiterated that the good and faithful God pays special attention to the poor in spirit and love them unconditionally.

He therefore urged all to seek fellowship with God, recognize their need for help and know that no one can obtain salvation on merits rather by the grace of God through His son, Jesus Christ.

Concluding the Apostle pleaded with all to always be completely dependent on God and be aware of their limitations and weaknesses.

The host District Leader assisted at the service which took place at the newly renovated and furnished church auditorium by the celebrant, with 110 in attendance.

Among dignitaries and guests at the service was the Deputy Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Comrade Phillip Shaibu who assisted the celebrant in cutting his birthday cake.

The Deputy governor donated a Keyboard to the youngest organist in Benin District, Master Marvelous Nmoka in appreciation of God's faithfulness in the life of the celebrant.

In his remarks Apostle Godday Odili wished the celebrant more graceful and fulfilling years in his service to God and humanity.
