Apostle Ibekwe (Mid-East) officiating during the live stream service in Abuja
14 July 2020

The live stream divine service of Sunday 12th July 2020 was conducted by Apostle Chima Ibekwe of Mid-East Nigeria and assisted by Apostle Oscar K Nwanza of West Nigeria in our Abuja Central Church, Nigeria.

The Apostle used a text word from: Exodus 20:7, “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain”.

At the beginning of the divine service, the officiating Apostle appreciated God for the special day He has made, that it is a thing of joy to serve the seen and unseen congregation who are connected to the divine service. He added that God is always with us and we should be thankful for what He has done for us.

Keeping the name of the Lord Holy.

The commandment given to us, reminds us not to toy nor take the name of the Lord in vain. In every activity we embark upon, we must honour and hallow His name by showing Him love through our conduct and good works. Jesus Christ is Holy, so we must imitate His holiness.

The name of the Lord gives us victory
The name of the Lord will help us fight against the activities of the evil one. When we have the name of the Lord in our lives, it creates a new life in us.

A Strong Tower
The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and they are safe.
Those who seek refuge under the tower are protected, delivered and saved. God’s name shields and protects His children.

The name of the Lord is true
God’s name is true. Do not give in to the counsel of false prophets who come in the name of the Lord. Whoever God has called, He gives the right utterance. His words are true because He who has called us is Holy.

Come, taste and see that the Lord is good.
When we hold the name of the Lord in high esteem and call upon Him, He will save us. When we call the name of the Lord in the time of trouble, He answers us. Jesus Christ knows the frame of our mind. He knows what we need in our hearts. He loves us dearly and will harken to those who call upon Him sincerely, in thanksgiving, honour and praise and loves His work.

Concluding the sermon, the congregation was told to call the name of the Lord purposefully, eliminating all distractions and follow Jesus Christ faithfully and steadfastly. When Jesus comes, He will find His perfect name; a name above all names written in our hearts and faces.

Apostle Oscar K Nwanza from West working area of Nigeria was called to serve along in the divine service.
