For brethren in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja, the video divine service on Sunday, May 3,2020 was still very much necessary for them.
The government had already relaxed the lockdown and many states in the country were free to take part in worship in their congregations but with strict measures being put in place, such as:
compulsory wearing of masks and total compliance on physical distancing.
For the above named states, it was another wonderful experience to participate in the divine service conducted by Apostle Schnaufer and assisted by Bishop Heiniger.
In the divine service, a clear message was given, our connection to Jesus Christ is His death and resurrection through our baptism and newness of life.
After reading the text word which was taken from the letter of Paul to the Romans 6: 4-5 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.
The Apostle said:
We need to have closest connection to Christ in His death and resurrection.
The resurrection with Christ is not in our earthly life but in our soul and spirit
Jesus grants us power and spirit
Do not bow to evil, say no to evil works.
We renounced Satan and all his works and surrendered our lives to Jesus and promised to remain faithful to Him during our baptism and confirmation. Let us continue to keep the vow.
Be rooted in Christ, like the tree whose source is in the root. Different seasons comes and go, but when the rain comes, the leaves are green again and it bears fruit.
Wherever we go, Jesus Christ is always with us.
We are joyful because we have found salvation. Let us pass it to our neighbors.
We do not have the burden of sin. What Jesus did is visible to us. Let us say no to evil work and remain faithful to God till the very end, he concluded.
Bishop Urs Heiniger was called to assist and a very good music interpretations were done by our three sisters with a accompaniment by two wonderful pianist and organist…
