The Apostle at the altar during the service
21 April 2020

On Sunday 19th April 2020, many brethren in Nigeria were able to connect successfully to the divine service conducted by Apostle Manfred Schönenborn from Germany, which was conducted online. He was assisted by Bishop Martin Rheinberger.

The introduction of the two singers who sang in English language was a wonderful addition to the divine service.

For the divine service, the Apostle read a text word from the gospel according to Luke 24: 13-15, “Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them.”

In his message the Apostle asked:
* Are we thinking everything has come to an end without achieving what we believed and have been following?
* Are we disappointed?  Are we going back to where we were before coming to Christ?
* Are we going to leave the fellowship of God’s people?  Are we sad of the turn of events which didn’t turn out the way we expected it to be?

He advised all not to leave the fellowship of the Lord Jesus Christ and brothers and sisters no matter the turn of events in our lives. Jesus Christ knows us.  He loves us and He is preparing to be with us in every situation we find ourselves.  He is always in our midst, He loves us, cares for us, protects us, provides for us, teaches and guides us, strengthens us, blesses us, comforts and gives us peace.

All we need to do is to open our hearts to Him and we will see and know that Christ is always going with us and be with us in every situation.  For us to experience His fellowship, we must open up our hearts to Him.  He is always approaching us in the divine services, Apostles, brothers and sisters, Holy Spirit, Holy Communion, prayers, words, and forgiveness of sins.

To conclude the Apostle said: “Let us not give up our faith, love and hope in the Lord. The good and faithful God will soon again restore back our fellowship and it will be more glorious and rewarding. We should never leave the church but remain until the day of the Lord.”
