Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu embarked on a 2-day pastoral care visit to Southern Nigeria cared for by Apostle Samuel Usoro. He held a district rectors’ meeting, retired 2 ministers and ordained 2 others. He was assisted by Apostle Usoro and district ministers during his visits.
On 25th February 2020, he began the visit with a meeting with District Rectors of South East Area. The rectors, numbering 18, had gathered at Ikot Abia Idem in Ikot Ekpene. He also held a service with the rectors reading a word from Acts 20:28, “Therefore take heed to yourselves and all the flock...” He urged all to be watchful and take heed to our life of faith and watch over the flocks of Christ entrusted to their care as we will give an account on the day of the Lord.
Later in evening the Lead Apostle Nwogu conducted a divine service at Ikot Offrong in Mbiabong Ikot Udofia where 118 souls had congregated. He read a text from Matthew 25:13, “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the son of Man is coming”.
The Lead Apostle expressed his deep thankfulness for the patience of the members in waiting, encouraging them to continue in their love for God, His work and our neighbours by constantly being watchful. “We have to watch over our faith, love, patience, hope and our prayer life. Moreso, we also endeavour to watch over our interactions, sacrifices, labour of love and our love for our neighbors even our enemies” he advised.
A District Elder and a priest were retired while two deacons were ordained.
The following day 26th, the Lead Apostle and his entourage arrived Ikot Ukpong in Ikot Idem Udo District where 119 members had gathered for a divine service.
The joyful congregation was served with a text from Matthew 9:2, “Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, ‘Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven.”
Here, he reminded the brethren that the Son of God has the power to forgive sins and same authority had been given to the apostles. He concluded that burdens are lifted once sins are forgiven.
Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu rounded off his visit to the South East Area in the evening as a special guest to a classical and choral musical concert which was the very first in this area.
