The poster for the Youth Convention 2019
7 September 2019

It was with joy and peace that the youth of South Apostle Area, Nigeria, gathered for their 2019 Youth Convention from 30 August to 2 September 2019, in Benin City.

Activities during the 4 day event included seminars, recitations, bible quizzes, cultural displays, talk show, choir ministrations, drama, workshops, and various sports.

The convention climaxed with a festive divine service on Sunday conducted by Apostle Odili, based on Philippians 2:20-21, ‘For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.’

The youth were admonished to have mutual esteem and recognition to promote fellowship, not always only think about themselves. They were also advised to avoid a life of individualism because it is the main cause of selfishness and disunity which destroys harmony among the young Christian congregation.

Everyone is to contribute to the wellbeing of the entire congregation with their various gifts and abilities. And it is in this manner that our lives in fellowship with Christ also becomes an example for others.

Apostle Odili also shared the need for everyone to be humble, and show willingness to serve others. To respect our neighbor requires everyone to accept others exactly as they are.

Called to serve were District Elder Adoroh James and Evangelist Daniel Akpan. Two souls were sealed, with about 300 were in attendance.
