Lead Apostle and Apostle Rotimi posing with the Sunday school children and their teachers
21 July 2019

On July 7, 2019, the Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu accompanied by Apostle Rotimi visited Jos the plateau State capital in Northern Nigeria where he conducted a festive divine service for the departed with an attendance of 70 members.

The text word for the service was taken from Genesis 19:17 (So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.”)

The Lead Apostle explained in details the need for children of God to escape for their lives without being disobedient.  He said: Lot’s life was in imminent danger; so is the life of every unconverted man. But Lot had timely warning to escape from the impending storm, and so has every sinner.   Lot’s escape was to be effected in haste; and if he had not left the place at that time, he would have been destroyed with the wicked.  He went on to say that during the service for the departed, there was need for all those in danger to escape for their lives in a haste without looking back…

He then summarized the service with the words of admonition to the congregation to help the departed to escape from their prison in the realms of the departed into the realm of light.
He said those who flee to Christ find a place of safety, those who escape to Jesus Christ shall find rest, and those who escape to Christ are blessed with peace
