On Sunday the 24th of March 2019, District Apostle Michael Ehrich accompanied by Lead Apostles Volker Kuhnle and Nwogu, together with all Nigerian Apostles and Bishops celebrated a festive divine service at the Abuja Central Church.
The text word was taken from John 16: 13, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come”
In his opening message, the District Apostle thanked all for giving time to attend the service. He added that God is the Almighty, He gives spiritual blessings, strengthens our faith, loves us, sacrificed Himself for us, forgives our sins and strengthens us to reach our goal. He is with us in our sorrows, and has promised to be with us in peace in all eternity.
He continued by telling all present to respect and obey the godly commandment to sacrifice the 1st day of the week, Sunday, in worship to God. He said, “This we ought to obediently observe despite several other matters of our personal agenda contesting for the same time.”
In explaining the text word, the District Apostle emphasized that the Holy Spirit is to open our minds to understand the future, and that at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit began this work with the Apostles.
He further asked, “Do we still experience the power of God today as in the past?” He explained that the power of the Holy Spirit is not to focus on our natural life but on our spiritual life. He added that the tasks of the Holy Spirit are to:
* Reveal the thoughts of God to us – He reflected, “Does the Holy Spirit reveal God's thought to me, can I leave my thoughts behind and go with thoughts of God revealed in the Divine Service?”
* Lead us in the right way – “Do I accept His leading or not. For as many as are led by the Holy Spirit of God these are sons of God.”
* Give talents – “Let us serve God with the talents He has given us, then He will lead us well.”
* Initiates the union between the Spirit and the Bride – The Spirit always invites us. Do we also say to the Holy Spirit “come into my life?” This is a sign of the bride of Christ.
“We say to all, come to the Divine Service with us. We want to share God's love with you and be let eternally to God.” said the District Apostle as he concluded.
Lead Apostles Volker Kuhnle and Nwogu were called to assist during the service. Two district ministers were retired while one district elder was assigned to lead the district. The service ended on the high note of a Silver Jubilee marriage blessing of the Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu and Sister Augustina Nwogu.
