The South East Area of Nigeria cared for by Apostle Samuel Usoro played host to Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu from Saturday 23rd to Sunday 24th June, 2018. Top on the agenda was a meeting with District Ministers at Ikot Abia Idem, Ikot Ekpene on the 23rd by 10:00am. The meeting which had 20 in attendances was divided into two parts – Spiritual and Administrative.
For the spiritual, the Lead Apostle exhorted the participants with a text word from 1Timothy 4:14-16. “Neglect not the gift that is in thee… take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine: continue in them: for in doing this, thou shall both save thyself and them that hear thee” He charged them not to neglect the special gifts from the Holy Spirit of promise.
Concluding, he admonished all of them to take heed to our faith, eminent return of Christ, love for God and our neighbour, purity of the gospel and uniformity of the doctrine.
Later in the day, he conducted a Divine Service at Adiasim Atai, in Adiasim District where 83 were in attendance. He addresses them with a text word from Psalm 50:23 “whosoever offer praise glorify me and to him that ordered his conduct aright will I show the salvation of God …” Here, emphasis were laid on how to praise and worship God, insisting that our conduct must align with the gospel of Jesus Christ in our thoughts, behaviour and deeds. He was assisted by the host, Apostle Samuel Usoro.
On his way back he stopped over at Ukana Iba Congregation, Adiasim District to inspect the church building that had been blown off by wind storm.
The last day - Sunday 24th, the Lead Apostle was among the 245 members at Ikot Abia Idem, Ikot Ekpene who watch live transmission service of our chief Apostle from Germany. At the end of the transmission Lead Apostle shared pleasantries with the members and laid emphasis on the message from our chief Apostle from Mathew 5:44:45: “And I say to you, love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to them that hate you ... that you may be children of your father who is in heaven…”
Later, the Lead Apostle proceeded with his entourage to Nung Ukim where 447 souls were anxiously waiting for him. This is the first time our Lead Apostle is conducting a Divine service in this beautiful church which was under renovation. He was full of praises for the work done there.
He drew a text word from 1Peter 2:5 “You also, as lively stones are built but up a spiritual house, an holy Priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ." In his sermon he reminded all that we have been elected by grace as living stones, we should endeavour to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Apostle Samuel Usoro and District Elder Sunday Bassey were called to serve along. After the service, the Lead Apostle had fellowship with brethren at the residence of Apostle Usoro.
