Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu’s 2 days working visit to South Central Area, Nigeria from Thursday 21st through 22nd June, 2018 commenced with a meeting with District Ministers at Four Towns, Uyo by 10:00am.
The Ministers numbering 30 were exhorted from 2Timothy 2:2-3 “And the things thou has heard from me among many witnesses, commit thou to faithful men who shall be able to teach others also… That you therefore endure hardship as a true soldier of Jesus Christ.”
The Lead Apostle urged participants to impart what they have heard and received in the course of preparing the Bride of Christ. He reminded them that as “Soldiers of the Cross”, they must use their hearts and not their brains knowing that they will all give account of their stewardship. He enumerated the qualities of a good teacher which includes spirit of unity, faithfulness, enduring hardship and having in-depth knowledge of our faith. The host, Apostle Effiong Ekpenyong assisted the Lead Apostle.
By 1:00pm same day, the Lead Apostle and his entourage arrived Afaha Ube congregation in Afaha Ube District, where he conducted a divine service. He drew a text word from Psalm 95:6-7 “Oh come. Let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker…” Lead Apostle emphasized that worshiping and bowing down before our maker requires humility. He further enumerated many reasons why we should worship, praise and bow down before our maker. This includes the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ; the rebirth; His love and grace. 108 were in attendance; Apostle Effiong Ekpenyong and Bishop Ime Udombang were called upon to serve along.
On Friday 22nd June, 2018 by 10:00am, he conducted another Divine Service at Ikot Obio Nko where 186 had been patiently waiting. He admonished the brethren with a word from Numbers 21: 9 “So Moses made a bronze serpent, and set in on a pole, and if a serpent bit any man, he would look at the bronze serpent and live”. He charged all to look up to Jesus in all circumstances of life. Apostle Effiong Ekpeyong, Bishop Ime Udombang and the District Elder Nse Ukime were called upon to assist at the altar.
His last port of call was Odobo congregation in Nung Atai District. Here the Lead Apostle and his entourage were joyfully received. He drew a text word from Hebrews 3:1-2 “Wherefore holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and the high Priest of our confession”. In his exhortation, the Lead Apostle reminded brethren that Jesus is the Apostle and high priest or our confession and we are expected to sanctify ourselves in order to be a partaker of his holy calling. He further said that Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant and we must remain faithful to him and set our minds on things on high. Apostle Effiong Ekpenyong, Bishop Ime Udombang and District Elder Armstrong Inyang were called to assist. Eighteen (18) souls were sealed, 261 were in attendance.
