On Sunday the 23rd of July 2017, Apostle Odili Goddey of South South visited the congregations of Isumpe and Utagba-Unor in Ndemili District of Delta State.
During the divine services the Apostle told the brethren to be witnesses of Christ by loving and by example. He admonished the brothers and sisters to remain faithful to God no matter their circumstances they find themselves in life. While using the story of Naomi, he told the brethren that God helps the poor and needy. He said, “it was Naomi’s faithfulness that enabled her to be happy again. She didn’t revolt against God, neither turn to the idols of her host.” He told the members not to revolt against God in tribulation but to remain faithful to him by persevering in obedience to his laws because God does not forget the faithful.
Six souls were baptized and ten souls sealed.
In the other 2 divine services conducted on Sunday the 30th of July 2017, the Apostle gave the great secret of doing well to our neighbor…
Giving in secret:
This was the message in the 2 divine services he held at Igbekhue and Iguemokhua congregations. The text word of these divine services were taken from the gospel according to Matthew 6: 3 and 4 “But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly” .
Brothers and sisters were admonished:
1. To love and care for others as exemplified by Jesus Christ while here on earth.
2. To do charitable deeds in secret and in silence, only God knows our activity.
3. To take joy in the knowledge that our father knows everything.
4. To know God’s reward is beyond our small deeds.
