Bishop Antony E. Urom

It has pleased our Heavenly Father to call home one of His servants, late Bishop Anthony Urom of Uruk Ata, Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State in South West Area of Nigeria.
The Bishop who has been assisting Apostle Enobong Udoh passed on peacefully in the early hours of Saturday 8th January 2022.

The late Bishop had served as a minister for 34 years, 24 of it as a Bishop.
The news of his exit is very shocking and devastating but we are consoled by the legacies he had left behind
   
Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu, who broke the sad news to all the Apostles and bishops in Nigeria, said:

 “It is with a heavy heart, that I inform you of the call into the great beyond of our beloved Bishop and co-worker in the vineyard of God. May God comfort the immediate family and all of us in this period of parting.”

Bishop Anthony Urom was born on August 10, 1957, in Uruk Ata, Abak,Nigeria.
In August 1987 he became acquainted with the New Apostolic Church through late Apostle Usua Okoh, he was baptized on November 21, 1987 and sealed by late Apostle Okuyak  Uwah on November 29, 1987.

He married his wife Helen Duff Akpan in November 1978.
Their marriage was blessed with ten children, six females and four males.  Three of the male children are serving as priestly ministers in Abak, South West Nigeria.

 Over the years, our departed Bishop was ordained into the following ministries:

1987 Priest
1988 Evangelist
1990 District Evangelist
1995 District Elder

Chief Apostle Richard Fehr ordained him as Bishop in Cotonou/Benin on October 08, 1997.

He was active in the working area of Apostle Udoh in Nigeria until his unexpected demise.
Bishop Urom contributed effectively to the development of the work of God in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, especially in his home town of Abak.  A deserving homage is awaiting to be paid to him in this dimension.
