Earthly life is transitory and comes with burdens, every soul on earth prepares for his return to His creator. Those who recognize Christ’s sufferings, sacrifices, death, and resurrection prepare to reunite with Him when Earthly life is over.

With these emotional words, Apostle Ernest Onwukwe of East Central Area commenced the funeral service of late Sister Augustina Nwogu, aged 56 wife of Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu who passed on 9th June 2023.

The service held at Akpodim, Mbaise in Imo State of Nigeria on 18th August 2033 had a text word from 2Cor 4: 16 -18

"Therefore we do not lose. Even though our outward man is perishing.......For our light affliction, which is for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory "

The Apostle went on: God who allows these afflictions and tribulations has a better plan for us as these are opportunities for us to turn our pains to Praises.

He condoles the Lead Apostle, children, family, and mourners to remain firm and resolute in their faith, knowing that the deceased had demonstrated love for God and her neighbour while alive.

He further charged them to give thanks and Praises to God for the love, joy, and even burdens they shared which was an act of God's grace.

Apostle Onwukwe described   late Sister Augustina Nwogu as caring, loving and gentle soul who has been a great support and pillar to our Lead Apostle.

Concluding, he assured the mourners that the sun will surely rise again, urging all not to dwell on our sufferings rather take courage from Christ's sufferings, death and resurrection.

He assured sympathizers that they are surrounded by the prayers of the faithful.

The event which drew people from all walks of life was preceded by Service of songs on Friday 17th and concluded with Thanksgiving service on Sunday. Among dignitaries were Lead Apostle Benjamin Saffo from Ghana, all Active Apostles and Bishop with their spouses from Nigeria, retired Apostles and District Leaders across the country.
