Sunday, January 21, was special for members of the Ikeja congregation in Lagos East district. The day became special because during the divine service officiated by District Apostle Michael Ehrich in Ulm via YouTube, our Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu was part of the community, to the delight of all present.
The Lead Apostle was not alone; he was accompanied by the Area Apostle as well as all the district ministers of the West Apostle Area.
For the festive divine service, the District Apostle has prepared a text from Jude 1:20 “But you, beloved, build yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit”
In his message, the District Apostle said: Preserving and maintaining a pure faith was one of the concerns of Judah for the first community in Jerusalem. This belief is based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which remains fully valid even after more than 2,000 years. This should be the foundation on which we build our lives.
Our New Apostolic Catechism also emphasizes how we build our faith - in prayer, in communion and in fellowship.
He also added that it is also important to pray seriously and in the right way. Talking about the annual motto “Prayer works”, he said that every prayer does not help immediately, as it depends on the right way. You must let yourself be guided by the Holy Spirit and say the prayer with all your heart and not without thinking. In his conclusion, the District Apostle explained that prayer has three important aspects: trust, perseverance and the attitude with which one approaches God.
After the transmission service, Lead Apostle Nwogu and Apostle Nwanza took their time to shake hand with all the brethren in the congregation. It was indeed a blessed and joyful day for the members.
