It was with joy and love that the Area Apostle, District Ministers, Congregational Ministers, brothers and sisters welcomed Lead Apostle for his first visit to their Area from 4th April to 8th April, 2024! Through the grace and strength of God the activities scheduled for the visit were successfully carried out by the Lead Apostle.
On 5th April, 2024 the Lead Apostle held a meeting with the district ministers. He admonished them to work with faith, love, joy, strength, zeal, and to be diligent and united. After the meeting, the Lead Apostle paid a pastoral care visit to the Apostle's family where admonition and prayers were made by him!
On 6th April, 2024, the first divine service scheduled for Sapele District took place
at Sapele congregation where five souls were sealed. There was also a visit to orphanage home in Ekpan, Warri where food, toiletries and financial support were given. In the evening there was a concert by Warri and Effurun District choirs!
For the divine service, the Lead Apostle took a text word from 1 Corinthians 15:14 "And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty." He mentioned that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the guarantee of our resurrection, and we look up to the Risen One and seek fellowship with Him.
In conclusion the Lead Apostle said: "Let our faith and way of life demonstrate to others that the God to whom we belong is a God of life, peace, and love, and not a God of death! Called to serve were Area Apostle and the District Rector of Sapele District. 109 were in attendance.
On 7th April, 2024 the missionary visit took the Lead Apostle to Warri District for a festive divine service where confirmation blessing was bestowed on 30 young brothers and sisters on their confirmation day!
The Lead Apostle took a Bible Text from Luke 24:10,11) "It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them."
Using “Christ’s resurrection is significant for our salvation” as the message, the Lead Apostle said: The resurrection of Christ is a central event in the history of salvation. He added that, when troubled by doubt, let us seek the Lord, it has been revealed that we have a deep faith when we trust in the Lord even in difficult circumstances. The Holy Spirit announces Christ's imminent return
On the confirmands, he admonished them to be good ambassadors of Jesus Christ, to be of good behavior and to make good use of their gifts and talents by using them to serve God and their neighbours to the glory and honour of God. He also told them to be obedient to their parents, elders, ministers, and institutions and be humble. He reminded them also the importance of attending divine services, prayer services, and religious instruction classes, joining the choir, and participating in other church programs and activities joyfully… In the end, the confirmands received gifts from the Chief Apostle and also from their parents and guardians! Called to serve were Area Apostle, District Rectors of Warri and Effurun Districts. 377 were in attendance.
In the afternoon of the same day, a tour was made to the Ogba Zoo for the relaxation of the nerves through viewing of the behaviour of the various animals in the zoo.
