On Saturday, May 18, 2024, many districts in the East Central Apostle Area invited the Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu to commission several of their 50th anniversary projects as agreed with their Area Apostle.

However, due to time constraints and long distances between districts, the Lead Apostle, accompanied by Apostle Ernest Onyebuchi Onwukwe, was only able to visit and commission completed projects in some districts, the remaining projects have to be commissioned by the Area Apostle once completed.

The Lead Apostle began his visit from Umuguma District where a borehole was constructed for the church and public use and renovation of Umuguma Central Church.  After Umuguma, the Lead Apostle and Apostle Onwukwe visited Amala, Umuocham Ntu, Elelem and Okehi districts.

Respectively, the Lead Apostle thanked the brothers for the renovation of two church buildings, the purchase of a new power generator and the construction of two amenities and a borehole in Umuguma. In Umuocham Ntu and Elelem, he thanked the brothers for the renovation of their central church. In Okehi district, he expressed gratitude to the brothers for the renovation of their central church and later paid a spiritual visit to the house of the first man who welcomed the New Apostolic Church to the area.

At each location, the Lead Apostle and Apostle shared exciting moments with the members, especially when cutting the tapes to commission the projects. The brethren expressed their joy by singing and dancing. To close the event at each project site, the Lead Apostle and Apostle took turns praying for the district, their ministers, and their members. The Lead Apostle exhorted them not to abandon their sacrifices as it should be until the coming of Christ.

The grand finale was the cutting of the commemorative 50th anniversary cake after the Pentecost service at Umuola congregation. The Lead Apostle recounted that exactly 50 years ago, on May 19, 1974, the first divine service of the New Apostolic Church was held in Surulere Lagos, Nigeria.
