Goldeen Jubilee celebration at Aka Offot
27 June 2024

There was great excitement in the air as Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu visits South Central Area of Nigeria cared for by Apostle Armstrong Inyang on the 13th and 14th of June, 2024.

The high point of the visit was the official unveiling of our golden Jubilee logo and other accessories reminding us of the grace of God for the last 50 years.

“Love for God and our neighbours”
The first leg of this visit took   him to Amamong congregation in Nung Atai District, where he received a thunderous reception. He served the brethren numbering 184 with a text word from Luke 10: 27 ”…You shall love the Lord your God with all your hearth, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind and your neighbour as yourself.” The Lead Apostle called on all to love God with no strings attached, and always reciprocate God's love by loving our neighbours as well. He reminded all, that God through his son gives us life, grace, peace, and gift of the Holy Spirit, making us to be numbered among the firstlings. He concluded that we must love our neighbours unconditionally irrespective of their short comings. Apostle Armstrong Inyang and Bishop Ime Udombang served along.

“Chosen generation”
In the afternoon, the Lead Apostle and his entourage arrived Ikot Obio Edim congregation in Ikot Akpa District to a warm embrace. Here, he addressed them with a word from 1Peter 2: 9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” The Lead Apostle reminded all of our election and our calling, pleading all to be faithful and proclaim the eternal messages of salvation. The host, Apostle Inyang was called to assist.  203 were in attendance, 53 sealed and two priestly ministers were retired.

“Mercy and redemption”
On the 14th, he officiated in another service at Mbak congregation with 115 in attendance.  The joyful congregation was exhorted with a word from Exodus 15: 13 “You in your mercy have led forth the people whom you have redeemed …” Here Lead Apostle recalled the love of God towards the Israelites in the wilderness.  where God gave them a leader and fed them with manna. He said in our time, God through His son have given us the Apostles to lead us, fed us with holy communion and given us His holy spirit making us His bride. He concluded that our son ship is assured and as such, we should not take His grace in vain but rather let us follow the Apostles and fight against sin. Apostle Inyang also served, 16 souls were sealed.

Be doers of the word
The visit climaxed in the afternoon at Aka Offot Congregation in Four Towns District, where over 149 souls had anxiously and joyfully waited for the entourage. Here he was received by carnival flouts and traditional cuisine expressing the rich culture of Akwa Ibom people to mark our 50th year anniversary celebrations. The enthusiastic congregation numbering 149 were addressed with a word from   James 1: 23 - 24 “For if anyone is y hearer of the word and not a doear, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror … And immediately forgets what kind of man he was” In his homily, the Lead Apostle called for spiritual evolution and internal transformation, using the image of a mirror. He enumerated reasons for not being doers of the word to include lack of respect for God, ungratefulness, wrong priority, lack of foresight, unconsciousness, doubt and many other vices. Apostle Armstrong Inyang assisted at the altar, 3 souls were sealed and a Shepherd went into retirement. At the conclusion of the festive Divine service, the Lead Apostle officially declared the golden Jubilee celebrations open in South Central Area with lots of fun, exhibitions and more. Indeed, it's a golden moment as we celebrate God's grace.
