The District Apostle being welcomed with a flower at the central church
23 December 2024

District Apostle Michael Ehrich conducted a festive Divine Service on Wednesday 18th December, 2024 in Abuja the Nation’s capital in company of all Apostles and bishops in Nigeria, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Cameroun.

For the Divine service, he based his sermon to serve the members with a text word from Matthew 24:44 “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” The District Apostle encouraged the congregants to be prepared for the return of Christ since this is our main goal as New Apostolic Christians. As in Luke 2:25, the District Apostle talked how Simeon waited longingly for the messiah. According to him, just like Simeon, we all have the gift of Holy Spirit which enables us to long for Lord’s second coming no matter what happens. Lead Apostle Nwogu and Apostle Oscar Nwanza were called to assist in the Divine Service which was also transmitted for members across the country.

A good example to all
The highlight of the Service was the retirement of Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu who has served as a minister for 47 years in which 19 as an Apostle. He was ordained as an Apostle by Chief Apostle Leber in 2005. In 2012, District Apostle Michael Ehrich appointed him as a lead Apostle to take care of the brethren in Nigeria, Cameroun, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. The District Apostle before the retirement reflected on the journey so far of the faithful servant of God and thanked him for serving with so much love, commitment and dedication even in the face of the very many challenges. He acknowledged “He is a good example to all ministers and members” Apostle Oscar Nwanza was appointed to relieve the now retired Lead Apostle Nwogu. Also in the same Divine service, Shepherd Adeyemi Emmanuel was ordained into the Apostle ministry. He now takes the west working area from Apostle Oscar who is now Lead Apostle.

The divine service was transmitted live and thousands of brethren were able to take part using their mobile phone, computer and TV.
