6 March 2025

There was overwhelming joy, tremendous blessings, and sweet memories at the visit of Chief Apostle Jean Luc Schneider to Nigeria, the largest and most populous black nation in Africa, with a population of over 240million inhabitants from 28th February to 2nd March, 2025.

Accompanying the Chief Apostles Were District Apostles Michael Ehrich (South Germany), Kububa Soko (Zambia), Lead Apostles Benjamin Saffo, Yedenou, Leno, Oscar Nwanza and several Apostles and their spouses

On Saturday, 1st March a day before the festive Divine service, several ensembles -  vocals as well   as instrumental presented a festive concert at Freedom Park, Lagos inland   to bring to mind importance of service for the departed.

On Sunday, 2nd March, the Chief Apostle and his entourage arrived at the Lagos Central church to a rousing and electrifying reception by the Children's Choir and Apostles /Bishops (active and rtd). The service that was transmitted to adjoining congregations all over Nigeria had over two thousand in attendance. The choir set the tone for the feast of love, compassion, and mercy with song: " Blessed and Holy is he that has part in the first resurrection "

In his homily, the Chief Apostle addressed the faithful with a text word from Genesis 50:20 ”But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive" Chief Apostle expressed great joy to be in Nigeria and was full of thankfulness to our Heavenly Father for us to experience another service for the departed.

Service for all
He said the service does not mean it's for the invisible church alone, but for all, even as those from the yonder world need to be prepared. The preaching of eternal messages of Jesus Christ and holy sacraments are for all, both the living and the dead, he posited.

God mean no evil
Analyzing the story of Joseph the Chief Apostle said it is one of the best stories in the bible. According to him, Joseph was the preferred son of his father, Jacob; but his brother hated him however God was with him. Continuing, he said God made it possible that he was sold to the right person, Potiphar, but he did not prevent his sufferings. More so, even those Joseph   help in the prison did not remember him but he kept His faith alive and waited on the plan of God. He reminded all that God kept His promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob because they were faithful and pleaded we must believe in God, His son, trust in His promises and accept the Apostolate of Jesus Christ. He further said for Joseph not being judgmental but faithful, became a blessing not only to his family but the land of Egypt. Chief Apostle said Joseph’s brothers were sinners but God did not abandon them, HE needed their salvation because He love them and want to rescue them from sin.

Remain faithful in all circumstances
Concluding, the Chief Apostle said:

  • Be faithful in all circumstances
  • Be willing and prepare to forgive.
  • All are called to be a blessing in the kingdom of peace.
  • Fellowship in Christ with the Apostolate is necessary for our salvation.
  • God has plan to save all mankind.
  • No one can hinder   God's plan of salvation.
  • To find grace we must recognize we are sinners
  • We should not judge our neighbor.
  • The proof of the love of God is the eternally valid sacrifice of His son.
  • To access salvation we must be in Fellowship of the Apostles just as Joseph's brothers had to go to Egypt, where they find help.

The Chief Apostle who was assisted by the two District Apostles ended that Joseph's brothers later had a repentant heart when Joseph asked them to bring along Benjamin to him in Egypt, where   they preferred to be taken as slaves instead of letting go their last born. Sacraments of holy baptism, sealing and communion were ministered by proxy to those in the beyond.

This visit has brought strength and joy not only to Nigeria but other surrounding African countries. 1,744 attended the service.
