The Lead Apostle, Apostle Adeyemi and ministers with the confirmands after the divine service
7 May 2025

On Palm Sunday 13th April, 2025, Lead Apostle O.K Nwanza conducted a festive Divine Service in the Ikeja Central Church of Apostle Adeyemi's West working Area.

The lead Apostle served the jubilant congregation with a text from John 12:15-16

“Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion. See, your King is coming, seated on the colt of a donkey.” At first His disciples did not understand these things, but after Jesus was glorified they remembered what had been done to Him, and they realized that these very things had also been written about Him.

After the Bible reading which was taken from Luke 19:28-40, the lead Apostle noted that the triumphant entry is not new at all as prophecies had been given about it by prophets Isaiah (Isa. 49:10), Zachariah (Zach. 9;9) and Micah (Micah 4:8). He explained that these prophecies and the eventual triumphant entry was misunderstood by the people.

Triumphant entry as a King, Priest and Prophet
As a King:
The Lead Apostle said: Jesus did not come like the kings of this world but rather as the heavenly king bringing the heavenly kingdom to the people. He encouraged the brethren to receive Christ into their hearts as the king who brings Divine justice and peace.

As a Priest: Christ comes to us as the priest who brings about the eternally valid sacrifice thereby offering us His body and blood for our spiritual well-being.

As a Prophet: The Lord Jesus Christ also comes to us as Prophet who will reveal His kingdom to us. He brings His glad tidings through His Apostles even today. He said: Jesus was not just a messenger but he was the messenger, the means, and the message of God himself

He further stated that we receive the reigning Christ in our hearts when we put all His commands into action. He posed a very important question: Can we go on an extra mile when we think about the Kingdom to help our neighbour?

The Lead Apostle also advised that just as the disciples obeyed Christ and carried out His command when He commanded them to go and get the donkey, (Luke19:28-40) we should obey Christ always no matter what the situation is.

Doing good not a duty but a need
In his short address to the confirmands, the lead Apostle charged them to be determined to do good always.  He also encouraged the members to assist these young brothers and sisters to do good first to themselves and to their neighbours. He admonished them to be humble always just as Christ who chose to ride on a donkey instead of a chariot. He concluded that doing good is not a duty but a need! Apostle Adeyemi, Priest Simon, Evangelists Omosuyi and Daniel were called to serve along.

In this Divine service, 30 children received the confirmation blessing.

After the Divine Service, the choir and the orchestra thrilled the congregation to a wonderful Easter concert.
