The Apostle admonished the youths to be friends and like brothers and sisters to others, just as Christ is a friend and brother to us. The power of friendship and brotherhood: born for adversity: Jesus is our friend and brother and what we have to do for friendship and brotherhood were elaborated.
Other performances and youthful activities also took place after the divine service. Emphasis was made in relation to the West Youth convention coming up in about a month’s time. Attendance was Eighty (80).
On Sunday 12th August, was combined divine service for Ikorodu axis at Igbogbo congregation with Ijede and Igbelara joining, all three congregations were from Lagos East. The Apostle Adeyemi together with the District Rector and his delegate was welcomed by the children to the congregation. The music camp children also took part in the Divine Service with beautiful anthems. Text word from Exodus 20: 16 – "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” Speaking the truth. Let us be authentic. The Ten Commandments given by God were addressed to all people and are universally valid. God turns to us and makes the individual personally responsible for his or her actions and conduct of life. The Eighth Commandment was given for protection of our neighbour- in the case of false testimonies as such can be exonerated (acquitted). Truthfulness, on the other hand, leads to a peaceful and just co-existence. We hope to benefit from God's grace even when we violate the law. Be it white lie or black lie, it's false testimony and it's a sin. Jesus Christ is the truth who came to bear witness of the truth. Jesus Christ is the truth - The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. The chaste bride with the Lamb on Mount Zion will be found without deceit in their mouths. Four souls received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Attendance was Seventy-two (72). A courtesy visit to the home of our dear sister, who had gone through some difficult times was a timely one as such internal peace filled the heart of her family by the visit of the Apostle, District Rector, delegate and other Rectors.
