Souls for sealing being addressed before the Holy Sealing
4 July 2026

Despite the security challenges that have overshadowed its reputation, Jos - the city fondly known as the Home of Peace, became a place of hope and divine reassurance on Sunday, 28 June 2026, as Lead Apostle Oscar Nwanza conducted a blessed Divine Service in the Jos Congregation.

Preaching to 94 brethren, the Lead Apostle emphasized that God's peace remains certain even in a world filled with trials. Drawing from the words of the Prophet Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”, he reminded the congregation that God never abandons His people but offers them a future filled with hope, eternal fellowship, and everlasting peace through Jesus Christ.

He further highlighted that God's promises extend to both the living and the departed. Through the Word and the sacraments, all are given the opportunity to receive salvation and inherit eternal life. As the Church prepared for the Divine Service for the Departed, he encouraged the brethren to pray earnestly for those who suffer, those without hope, and for all souls to experience peace with the Triune God.

The service was also marked by joyful blessings as six souls received the gift of the Holy Spirit, one Deacon was ordained as Priest, and three brothers and one sister were ordained into the Deacon ministry.

Before the service, the Lead Apostle, accompanied by Apostle Jediel of Northern Nigeria, visited members and ministers in Jos, strengthening them through fellowship and encouragement. Following the Divine Service, food items generously donated by a brother from South Germany were distributed to members, reflecting Christian love and care.

Indeed, the visit was a powerful testimony that God's peace shines brightest even in the midst of life's greatest challenges.
