The visit of the Lead Apostle, Oscar Kabanga Nwanza, alongside all Apostles in Nigeria, to the Mid-East Area marked a truly historic moment in the history of the New Apostolic Church Mid-East Nigeria.

This special gathering was held for the dedication of the Central Church in Aba, as the servants of God came together to commit the newly built chapel into the hands of God.

The activities began with a soul-lifting musical concert on Saturday, 18th July 2026. The Area Choir rendered melodious songs in gratitude to God, creating an atmosphere of joy, worship, and thanksgiving.

On Sunday, 19th July 2026, the Lead Apostle conducted a festive Divine Service. The text word was taken from 2 Timothy 3:14–15: “But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

During the service, the Lead Apostle solemnly dedicated the chapel as a place of worship, praying for: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, The love of God and the active presence of the Holy Spirit

In his sermon, the Lead Apostle emphasized that the Holy Scriptures provide the wisdom necessary for salvation. He encouraged believers to remain steadfast in what they have learned, noting that Apostle Paul wrote these words to Timothy, and that every believer today can also be a “Timothy” of this time. He warned against false teachers and prophets who are prevalent in the world today, urging the congregation to be vigilant and not to be deceived. He stressed the importance of holding firmly to the true, unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Using a vivid illustration, he compared the true gospel to bitter kola—initially unpleasant but ultimately beneficial—while false teachings are like sweet treats that may seem appealing but lack true value.

The Lead Apostle further encouraged the congregation to: Love God Above all things, love their neighbours, remain faithful to the Apostolate and hold fast to the teachings of the scripture. He reminded the believers that their understanding of the gospel must not be influenced by worldly desires but grounded in truth. Apostle Armstrong Inyang, Apostle Ernest Onwukwe, and Apostle Chima Ibekwe served alongside the Lead Apostle during the Divine Service, In addition, a brother was ordained into the Deacon ministry, adding to the joy of the occasion, Over 460 members including guests were in attendance.
