How New Apostolic Church was established in Igboora District.
District Evangelist Ajani Gabriel was a member of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) from Ibadan who was transferred to establish a church in the name of CAC in Igboora. It was a herculean task for him since he knew no one from Igboora, there's an adage in Igboora carved by evil doers in Yoruba "Ile Igboora kin yo eniyan nigba ojo, sugbon on yo eniyan nigba erun", meaning- The land of Igboora doesn't slip during rainy season but does during dry season. With the help of God, he started the work in Igboora with 13 persons and later grew to 200 believers. The CAC church who accepted to return him to Ibadan after one year in Igboora decided to take the church from him. They said it was collective effort, saying he should handover the church which created indifference and it was at that time that the New Apostolic Church gained entrance through then Evangelist Urua Okon in Railway Corporation who introduced him to Canada District. By then the CAC church was under shed of palm fronts and bamboo sticks in 1985. He accepted to join the New Apostolic Church through the intervention of Elder Ogundare, Pr. Akinlolu, Pr Odekunle and others. The church was integrated into New Apostolic in July, 1986. Bishop Jensen from Canada, was invited and he instructed, then Priest Ajani Gabriel to get a land so the church can build. They also received visit of Apostle Okoh, the second Apostle of Canada District from Nigeria after Apostle Uwah. Apostle Okoh gave him 500 naira then when they met at Premier hotel in Ibadan. The land in Igbole was obtained and bought for 900 naira and temporary structure as Boldoff was erected. Afterwards, the Igboora received their first building constructed in October, 1988. After travelling to Akwa-Ibom for Seminars and acquiring doctrinal knowledge, he returned to Igbole with Community Evangelist Akpan, while Apostle Okoh dedicated the new chapel. From this congregation, nine other congregations were established in the town of Igboora... Odo-Igbo, Ayete, Ayegbede, Idere, Eruwa. The settlement of Ghanaians and Togolese led to establishment of Pako congregation. In the year 2001 Igboora district was transferred to German District under the leadership of Apostle Gfeller Peter ir. Some congregations became inactive and dead when members left, old ones are no longer there and due to lack of ministers. The work continued under the Apostle Ohemenge Charles ir, Apostle Hagher Immanuel ir, Apostle Nwanza Oscar now Lead Apostle. Apostle Adeyemi together with D Ev Solola Abiodun now lead this district.

Today, in Igboora town we have two congregations - Igbole and Pako. In Odeda region under Igboora, we have Itokoelemide, Baale and Lipede of which Priest Amos visited and later ceded from Ibadan district to Abeokuta District during the time of Apostle Gfeller Peter, later led by District Elder Adenekan Matthew ir. Reactivation of inactive congregations is being addressed by the ministers for future growth.

On Sunday 26th July, 2026, 40 years of celebration of Igboora district in West working area of Apostle Adeyemi Emmanuel took place and the retirement celebration of District Evangelist Ajani Gabriel. Lead Apostle Oscar Nwanza conducted divine service at Igbole congregation in Igboora district accompanied by District Ministers from nearby district. ‎District Evangelist Ajani Gabriel was celebrated with so much emotion after the divine service, prayers were offered, and the members appreciated him.
