District Apostle Martin Rheinberger conducted a Festive Divine at Kobina Island, Lagos using a Bible text from: Mark13:13b “But he who endures to the end shall be saved” The District Apostle called all the believers to remain faithful and endure to the end as this is the mark of a true believer.
The Highlights of the Divine Service were:
Unity in the congregation:
Using the analogy of the five fingers, the District Apostle emphasized that every member of the church is valuable and essential to the completeness of the body of Christ-including those who are no longer actively present.
Enduring Faith:
The example of the Gentile woman who persistently sought help from Jesus demonstrated the power of steadfast faith and the importance of holding on until the end.
Holding Fast to What Endures:
The District Apostle reminded the brethren that God’s love transcends human traditions and embraces all nations, as illustrated by Peter’s vision of the sheet. The parable of the Prodigal son further highlighted that God’s grace and mercy surpass human concepts of justice. Believers were also encouraged not to romanticize the past, as the Israelites did in the wilderness, but to remain focused on God’s promises for the future.
Lead Apostles Mark Leno and Oscar Nwanza were called to serve along. The divine Service also featured significant leadership transitions.
Retirement:
District Elder Effiom Bassey was honorably retired from active duty, with words of appreciation for his dedicated service.
Appointments and assignments:
Four priestly ministers were appointed as district rectors while seven were assigned as district rectors delegates.
482 members attended.
The Divine service was a powerful reminder that faithfulness, unity, grace and endurance remain essential as we continue to answer God’s call to serve.
