On Friday, 28th August, 2026, the ancient and historic city of Badagry went agog with sounds of joy of 270 young brothers and sisters in West 1 Area (12 districts) already converged at Sycomore Hotel Ajara-Topa, Badagry-Lagos for the much anticipated three (3) day annual event to conclude the West 1 music camp held at Ikeja Central Church, Lagos.
The Convention which was graced by the Lead Apostle Oscar Nwanza commenced with Apostle Adeyemi together with District Evangelist Richard Tetede (Area Youth Leader) declaring the convention opened with theme: Be Strong & Courageous (Joshua 1: 9). Host district cultural displays, other districts choir renditions, poem recitation and a panellist discussion on the topic “Sex before marriage; Where to draw the line” while worship and praise songs concluded day 1.
On Saturday 29th at about 10am, the youths were taken round the slave relics and sites in the ancient city of Badagry then via boats up to the "point of no return”. The choir rehearsals and district choir participation also took place.
On Sunday 30th August, the highlight of the YC'26 was a festive Divine Service by Lead Apostle Oscar Nwanza with a text from Genesis 11: 9"Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. “All praise, glory and honour be to God”
Putting God at the Centre
The sermon emphasised that human plans and abilities cannot replace God. The account of Babel also served as a warning against pride and self-exaltation. True greatness, unity is powerful when it is aligned with God's will. Believers were also encouraged to apply the TWA principle-Thoughts, Words and Actions.
Using Our Gifts for God's Glory
The service challenged the youth and the wider congregation to use their natural abilities, professional skills, social media platforms and other modern talents for God Also in the Service, a priest and six (6) deacons were ordained. Apostle Adeyemi Emmanuel (West), District Evangelist Tetede Richard (DR Island & West Youth Leader), Community Evangelist Edomwonyi Omosuyi (DR Lagos East) and Community Evangelist Yomi David Aina (DR Ibadan North) were called to serve along in the Divine service attended by 370 participants. Also among the congregants were Baales(traditional Chiefs) and Community Elders. Members could be seen at the end of the service jubilantly singing the local choruses.
Meanwhile, A joyful moment during the conclusion of the West 2 Area two-week music camp and three-day youth convention at Ado Central Church, Ado Ekiti from 7th – 9th August, 2026, involving 9 districts bringing together 100 youths with theme: Be Strong & Courageous (Joshua 1: 9). The Hallmark was Sunday Divine Service conducted by Lead Apostle Oscar Nwanza with text word from Colossians 3: 12 “Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put-on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; We are to put to death the characters of verses 5 & 6. He compared the old wardrobe and the new wardrobe. The old wardrobe is filled with earthly desires while new wardrobe deals with our love for God and our neighbours. Apostle Adeyemi Emmanuel & Community Evangelist Ebenezer DRD Ondo district served along, present were the district ministers while District Evangelist Osalusi Ayoola DR Ado (Host) translated to Yoruba dialect. Also in attendance were retired Apostle Rotimi and Bishop Adelabu and their wives, alongside Sister Adeyemi. Remarkable experience was the Corn Feast.
