The New Apostolic Church Zone A Youth Convention 2026 was held in Benin City on Friday, 4 September 2026, under the theme “Building the Temple of God.” Young people from across the zone gathered for worship, fellowship, and scriptural teaching.
Building the Temple of God
Lead Apostle Oscar Nwanza conducted the Divine Service based on 1 Chronicles 28:20 “And David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.” Using Solomon’s example, he encouraged the youth to faithfully build their lives as temples in which God can dwell. He urged them not to be discouraged by present challenges but to follow Christ and allow the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be evident in their daily lives. Addressing marriage and relationships, the Lead Apostle encouraged couples to build their relationships on Christ-like love, mutual respect, and commitment.
Encouragement and Appointments
The youth were encouraged to remain faithful, seek guidance from their ministers, and deepen their understanding of the faith through the Catechism and Community Magazines. The convention also marked the retirement of Priest Alekwe, Rector of Ohovbe Congregation, from active ministry. The Lead Apostle further appointed a District Rector and three Congregational Rectors, entrusting them with the responsibility of faithfully serving the congregations and preparing them for Christ’s return.
