The three-day Mid-East Area Youth Convention 2026 concluded on Sunday, 6 September, with a Divine Service conducted by Apostle Chima Ibekwe at the Area Central Church, Aba. The service was based on the Bible text from Isaiah 40:30–31: “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall; but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

In his opening remarks, the Apostle expressed gratitude to God for His love, faithfulness, and loving-kindness toward His children. He described the occasion as a special day of thanksgiving and appreciation to God. He also commended the youths for their sacrifices and dedication toward the success of the convention, reminding them that God sees and appreciates their efforts.

Speaking on the theme, “Eagles of the New Altar,” the Apostle highlighted the eagle as a strong, visionary, and remarkable bird. He encouraged the youths to understand that they are the “Eagles of the New Altar”—the generation for whom this new altar has been established.

The Apostle explained that the altar represents a great work that the Lord has done and spoke of it as a new fire. He encouraged the youths to allow the old fire to be extinguished and to embrace the new fire of God. He further explained that the new altar calls for constant devotion, faithfulness, and commitment. He urged the youths to remain faithful to the Lord, emphasizing that God is with them. He encouraged them to represent the New Altar through their lifestyle, conduct, and commitment to God.

During the service, District Elder Stephen Onyebuchi and District Elder Ugochukwu Nwankpa were called to serve along. A particularly joyful moment came when five souls received the gift of the Holy Spirit through the prayers and laying on of hands by the Apostle. The three-day convention concluded with renewed faith, gratitude, and a strong call for the youths to live as true Eagles of the New Altar.
